Wizard Hunter 2348 is sort of a cross between Spyro and Heat Signature, but made before I played either of those. You play as a fox (or sometimes a wizard) and engage in high speed top down shooter combat with enemies while carefully managing what the enemies know about you so they can't mob you and take you down.

There's silly background dialogue about this future conflict between the law-obsessed government and the freedom-loving, demon-summoning wizards, without voice acting so you might want to read it aloud.
