X4: Foundations is the latest title in the X series of space simulation / sandbox games. X games are space simulations played as action games (1st person) in a living and breathing universe. They simulate an entire universe of NPC ships and stations, including a realistic economy. Hundreds of stations and thousands of ships trade goods between each other. Prices change based on supply and demand. Resources are mined, refined into metals, transported to higher level factories and eventually consumed or produced into even higher level goods. This depth is one of the unique characteristics of the series. As a player, you decide how your space adventure will play out.
